UPDATE ON RIDING HAT STANDARDS

Irish Equestrian Organisations and the UK Pony Club are updating their hat standards for 2023. These changes are been introduced by the Irish Pony Club. In order to ensure riders are wearing the most up to date riding hats, please note that the UK Pony Club and Irish Equestrian Bodies have ruled that from the 1st January 2023, the following hat standards will no longer be accepted, due to the age of the hats made to these standards.

PAS O15 1998    SNELL 2001

*Important to note for 2024 Season*

From the 1st January 2024 body protectors meeting the 2009 standard will no longer be permitted for use within the Irish Pony Club. The Beta 2018 Level 3 turquoise label will be the ONLY permitted standard for use within the Irish Pony Club.

VACCINATION OF PONIES & STABLING RULES.

It is extremely important that all ponies participating at Pony Club events or wishing to avail of stabling facilities at these events are fully compliant with the rules around vaccinations. We do not want any child to be disappointed that they cannot participate in an event or enter a stable yard as a result of lapsed vaccinations. We would ask that ideally all passports are viewed by a vet, to verify that all is in order. All vaccinations must be up to date and recorded on your ponies passport. Passports must be available for inspection at all times. If your ponies vaccination has lapsed you must bring it up to date as follows:

1st Shot to be followed by 2nd Booster Shot within 21 – 90 days (4-6 weeks),followed by 3rd Shot no later than 115 – 215 days (6-7 months) after 2nd Booster and annually thereafter.

*If you are unsure, please ask your vet to check your vaccinations now.*
